Inspection is a licensed document
Florida requires wood-destroying organism inspection reports underFla. Stat. § 482.226 (WDO inspection reports). Chapter 482 also defines termites and other wood-destroying organisms as their own pest-control category, separate from general household pest and from fumigation (Fla. Stat. § 482.021 (definitions)).
UF/IFAS tells homeowners that swarmers (winged reproductives) are the form most useful for identification, that it matters to tell termites from ants, and that subterranean termites use mud tubes (UF/IFAS, Termite Prevention and Control (IN1277)). Equal-length wings, a thick waist, and straight antennae distinguish winged termites from flying ants (UF/IFAS, Subterranean Termites (IG097)).
